Veterans and the families that supported them while on active duty sacrificed so much – the least we can do is ensure they have a safe and sound place to call home. At Legacy Restoration we have made it an annual mission to show our gratitude through the installation of a new roof for a Veteran in need.
Today the Legacy Restoration team gave the gift of a new roofing and gutter system to a very deserving Vietnam Veteran in Minneapolis, Minnesota through our third Roof Deployment Project. Richard, who has lived in his home for 44 years, had received numerous costly city citations, costly energy bills and unwanted visits from his faulty, deteriorating roof. He had also recently dealt with a stroke along with ongoing PTSD aliments, lacked homeowners insurance or the ability to repair the exterior of his home. Legacy had a short window of time to get him back on his feet and help eliminate the stress of unwanted bills. Legacy enlisted our partners at Habitat for Humanity Twin Cities and Owens Corning to tackle this give back opportunity.
“It’s always inspiring to see local businesses like Legacy Restoration pitch in to do something special for a veteran in need,” said Mike Robertson, A Brush with Kindness Construction Program Manager at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “It’s impossible to sufficiently thank veterans for their service, but the Roof Deployment Project is a tangible way of showing our community’s gratitude.”
“It’s an honor to participate in the Roof Deployment Project each year and complete a build for a local veteran,” said Brookley Wofford Topel, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at Legacy Restoration. “We cherish every opportunity to give back to the community, and we are proud to support another local veteran in need of a helping hand.”
Since the inception of the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project in 2016, more than 140 military members have received new roofs. Legacy certainly is proud to be an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor!
