Giving back to the communities we serve is foundational to who we are and what we stand for. On Friday, the Legacy Restoration team was able to give back in a big way and began honoring Veteran’s Day a week early through our latest Roof Deployment Project! This nationwide effort is a way to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Steven Ripp, Minneapolis U.S. Navy Veteran received a new Owens Corning Duration Shingle Roofing System installed on the place he has called home for over 30 years.
“The Roof Deployment Project is making a real difference for veterans around the country and we’re proud to be participating now for our second year in a row,” said Scott Mullins, Owner of Legacy Restoration LLC. “Our dedicated team will be on-site to make sure we provide the best for Steven like we do for all our neighbors and customers.”
Our partners at Habitat for Humanity Twin Cities assisted us with locating this deserving Veteran. As part of this project, Steven will also be receiving assistance from Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity’s A Brush with Kindnessprogram, which provides painting, landscaping and repairs to qualifying low-income elderly, veteran, disabled and single-parent homeowners who have unmet home repair needs.
“Everyone deserves a decent place to live,” said Cindy Lehner-Smith, ABWK Project Manager at Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “We rely on great partners like Owens Corning and Legacy Restoration to help make that a reality for those in our community.”
The shingles that are to be installed on veteran Steven Ripp’s home were manufactured locally at the Owens Corning plant located on North 49thAvenue in Minneapolis.
“Everyone at Owens Corning is proud of the Roof Deployment Project and all our team members here at the Minneapolis Plant are especially excited to know that shingles they made are going to help a great veteran who is also our neighbor,” said Pat Sheen.
