Ty began his career in the construction business in 2002, specifically the storm/insurance restoration business. He began his career being trained in sales and storm damage inspection with a leading national general contractor. Ty quickly advanced up the ranks to become the trainer, quality control and management of numerous sales divisions. Over the past 15 years, Ty has been intimately involved with every aspect of a successful general contracting business to include; sales, licensing, marketing, production management, job supervisor, permit acquisition and management, human resources and financial planning/budgeting.
Prior to working in the construction industry, Ty was a successful software engineer/database consultant for several years. Ty worked with many fortune 500 companies and government agencies to include; Best Buy, GE Capital, Land O’ Lakes, PSI Net, Cenex, Farmland and the MN Dept of Agriculture. During this time Ty achieved the prestigious Sun Java Certified Programmer (SJCP) certification. Ty’s technical skills, combined with his people skills soon propelled him into the area of training. The analytical skills Ty developed during his technological career has given him the ability to adapt and thrive in the ever-changing construction industry.
After attending the University of Minnesota studying Sociology, Statistics and Computer Science, Ty worked in the St. Louis Park Schools as a Youth Services Manager in Community Education for 7 years. During this time, Ty enjoyed working with young families, children and the community at large. This time spent in the St. Louis Park schools reinforced Ty’s commitment to civic duty.
